The Familiar

Every knight has their horse, every witch her familiar, every ogre his donkey.

We choose each other, we share soul contracts and, more often than not, past lives with our dearest soul pets.  We share more than just physical space with them, they absorb our energy, they share our emotional burdens and sometimes they can really test our growth edges!  (A growth edge is an area of life you might be working on, think; patience, presence, persistence – your animal might be a saint, or they might know the exact nerve to step on to put you into close proximity to your particular growth edge! No matter their temperament, they always bring the medicine you need, and I can help you alchemize it.)

In this session I use clairvoyance to read the energetic connection between you and your animal. My clairvoyance is image-based — I receive impressions, feelings, and pictures rather than words. It's a quieter kind of conversation than you might expect, and often it arrives in metaphor, in symbols, in things that only make sense once you hear them.

Sometimes what needs shifting is practical — releasing your animal from a role they've taken on, communicating what to expect during a life transition (moving house, boarding for a week, growing your family), or simply understanding what's present in the dynamic between you. At times I'm guided to offer energy work for both you and your pet, supporting healing or balancing, whatever wants to move.

If your beloved companion has crossed the rainbow bridge, this session can offer comfort and a gentle bridge as they return to source. The bond doesn't end — it just changes form.

A note from Claire: I regret that I cannot help find lost pets.  Sometimes an animal that has crossed over will tell me “I am right here” and they will show me their favourite spot, or they might show me their home, because they are with their family in spirit.  And sometimes, when an animal is dying, they do not want to be found until their soul has crossed over.  And sometimes, cats especially, are simply inexplicably in-between dimensions, and are neither here nor there.
